About Me
At home in Chapel Hill, NC, I take on the role of chief culinary strategist, subjecting my wife to a steady stream of experimental dishes inspired by my love of travel and discovery. With two grown children and two dogs, I continue pursuing opportunities to lead, innovate, and build lasting ventures.
I started in journalism, where I developed a sharp editorial eye and a deep appreciation for research and data. That curiosity eventually led me into tech — first as a systems integrator, then a developer, and eventually into leadership roles as CIO and CEO in media and compliance-driven companies.
My Work
For over a decade, I served as an Operations and Investment Executive at a privately held investment firm using a PE-style strategy. I led M&A, digital transformation, and performance turnarounds across a $180M+ portfolio, stepping in as CEO for multiple underperforming businesses and repositioning them for growth.
My focus spanned Healthcare, SaaS, Compliance, and Subscription-based models — often in sectors where trust, clarity, and operational rigor mattered most. I've led more than $100M in investments and drove operational initiatives across North America, Central America, Europe, and Asia.
The work has spanned complex environments: distressed operations, international expansion, early-stage IP development, and go-to-market realignments. Engagements ranged from building patent infrastructure in green energy to shifting media and healthcare companies toward profitable, scalable models. Along the way, teams were built and leaders developed — many of whom have gone on to become CEOs in their own right.
